About me
Oghenekevwe (Kevwe) Oghenechovwen (he/him) is completing a PhD in Disaster and Emergency Management at York University. His research focuses on understanding data gaps in disaster risk management through governance, power, and institutional perspectives. He has over six years of experience in disaster risk management, climate services, ocean sustainability, and science-policy interfaces, including recent work with British Columbia’s Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness. Kevwe holds a BTech in Meteorology from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria, and an MSc in Earth and Ocean Sciences from the University of Victoria, Canada. Outside of work, he enjoys board games, hiking, road trips, and experimenting with new recipes.
