About me
Chaka Zinyemba's strengths lie in relationship building, creating spaces for meaningful dialogue and action, and supporting communities navigate uncertain environments. He specializes in recovery planning and currently works as a Senior Policy Advisor with Public Safety Canada where he leads projects for the Canadian Centre for Recovery and Resilience.
Prior to joining Public Safety Canada, Chaka worked with the Canadian Red Cross and the Alberta Emergency Management agency where he supported numerous municipalities and Indigenous Communities during both response and recovery operations. Chaka has also worked internationally, supporting communities in Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Madagascar and Djibouti.
Chaka holds an undergraduate degree in Human Geography (University of Alberta), and a Masters in Disaster and Emergency Management (Royal Roads University).
