About me
Shawna Bruce, CD, MA (DEM), is a national thought leader in risk and crisis communications with over 40 years of experience across the Canadian Armed Forces, industry, and emergency management. She works with municipalities, industry partners, and First Nations communities to strengthen preparedness through crisis communication workshops, plan reviews, and readiness support. Shawna has written crisis communications courses for programs at NAIT and JIBC and is a certified instructor for the ICS Canada All-Hazards Information Officer Course. Shawna also facilitates key industry advisory panels with the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada and Life in the Heartland. Her passion is sharing her lived experiences to prepare organizations to communicate effectively when it matters most.
